Work with me, on retainer
A retainer is reserved, recurring time on your project. You're not buying a single conversation. You're securing someone building in public at the edge of AI, music, writing, and what comes next. Every engagement is built around what you actually need:
- A defined scope of work, agreed up front and written down
- A set cadence: how often we talk and what you can expect
- Clear deliverables and deadlines, so you always know where things stand
- The freedom to cancel anytime, with refund terms spelled out in plain language
How it works
- 1We meet. Free. We talk through your project, your goals, your timelines and deadlines. No charge, no pressure. This is where we both find out if it's a fit.
- 2We put it in writing. If it feels aligned for both of us, we put it in a contract: scope of work, deadlines, how often we talk, and what you'll actually get. You'll know precisely what you're paying for before you pay a cent.
- 3You sign, then you pay. We both sign the contract first. Then you send the upfront retainer. That payment reserves your engagement and gets us started.
- 4We start immediately. The moment payment clears, we're working. I run on Google Workspace, so contracts go through Google Docs e-sign. Need something different? Say so in the intake form and we'll figure it out.
- 5Either of us can walk away. You're never locked in, and neither am I. Cancel anytime. If you cancel, you keep everything I've delivered and owe nothing more going forward. If I cancel, you get back the part of your retainer I haven't yet earned, minus a small administrative fee. Fair both directions.
Good to know before you reach out
We work as independent collaborators. I'm not your employee, and a retainer isn't employment. The exact scope, cadence, deliverables, payment, and cancellation terms live in the signed contract, and that contract is what governs our work together.
Anything we discuss on the fit call is just a conversation. Nothing is binding until we've both signed. Take all the time you need to read the contract before you do.
