Turn trust into offers people are glad to pay for. You don't need to sell your soul. You need to share it.
Why it matters
Monetizing is not a trick you run on people. It's the natural result of trust plus value. If you've witnessed, built, and invited, people already want to go deeper with you. Charging is simply how you make that possible, and how you keep showing up. Money that comes after trust is clean. Money you chase before trust is the thing that makes brands feel gross.
Here's the reframe: an offer is a service, not a favor you're begging for. When someone pays you, they commit, and commitment is what makes your help actually land. Charging fairly lets you keep doing the work instead of burning out doing it for free. You're not extracting. You're trading real value for the means to keep creating it.
How to do it
- 1Start with one simple offer that solves one real problem: a guide, a call, a template, your time. Ship it before it's perfect.
- 2Remember the math. You don't need millions: 100 people at $20 a month, or 1,000 at $10, or 10 at $100. A few hundred real people is a living.
- 3Then build a grid offer so there's a way in at every level:
- Low ticket: a small guide (say $10) that shortcuts something that took you ages to learn.
- Core offer: a consultation (say $20). Your time, one-on-one.
- High ticket: a planning or strategy session (say $50). A real plan they keep.
- Custom: a simple "email or DM me for custom solutions" door. No price, just an opening.
- 4Price fairly, over-deliver, let it grow. Ask the superfans who consume everything what they need next, then build exactly that.
- 5Make the ask cleanly, with no shame. You provided the value first. The offer is just the open door.
Where people go wrong
- Trying to monetize before any trust exists.
- Hiding the offer, so nobody knows how to support you.
- Carrying shame about charging, which leaks into the work.
- Building offers nobody actually asked for.
Do this today: Name one offer you could make this month that solves a real problem for the people who already follow you. Outline it. Just one.
